 I’ve had golden retrievers for years, and I’ll be honest—nothing really compares. There’s something about the way they look at you, like they love you to pieces, or like they’re proud of you for anything and everything! They’ve been with me through late nights, muddy walks, loud kids, quiet mornings. They’re gentle, deeply loyal, and always ready to be part of whatever’s going on—whether it’s chasing a ball in the yard or just lying across your feet while you're playing board games. Our goldens have always been easy to train, because they want to do the right thing. And they don’t just live in your house—they become part of your story.

The Cocker Spaniels I’ve known have this softness to them—like they bring a little peace with them wherever they go. Friends of ours have had Cockers for years, and every single one of them has felt like an old soul. Their size makes them easy to bring along—whether it’s in a carrier, on a trip, or just up on the bed—and because they’re hypoallergenic, they don’t trigger allergies or leave hair everywhere. I know families who swear their toy poodle is the smartest dog they’ve ever owned—and I believe it. They’ve got this quiet confidence, like they know they’re small but mighty.
