Our Mini Golden Program

Our parents are decided early on once they have completed their Embark genetic testing whether or not they will be one of our future prospects. If they pass their Embark testing, we will hold onto them until they are one year old to complete their OFA prelims. If they pass all of their OFA scores with at least a minimum score of "fair", we will then assess their temperament and personality to see if they're the kind of dog we would like to copy into their puppies. If any of these needs/wishes aren't met, we will simply retire the dog early. If they are met, we welcome a brand new member into our program!

Our mini goldens weight between 20 and 45 lbs full grown and stand between 16 and 22 inches tall. They typically are more tall/athletically build rather than stalky and square. 

Our dogs are nearly all TT low-shedding, which is the genetic trait that allows puppies to inherit the same gene from their parents. The TT low-shedding gene is the lowest form of shedding before you get to nearly non-shedding dogs (like poodle mixes). Any other dogs we have are CT moderate shedding, which is the average medium for purebred goldens and right in the middle for low and heavy shedding. We aim for smooth, straight, longer fur in our puppies, just like the golden retriever's gorgeous coat. We try to stay away from wavy, poofy, or curly fur. 

I will look at a parent's temperament, health, and structure before deciding to breed them. This means I will look at the most similar or best matched temperaments (like a chill, easy-going dad with a confident mom, or a chill, easy-going dad with a chill and easy-going mom) to help create pups that are either more balanced than the parents or similar to the parents. I will compare health results from Embark and OFA and always breed either the same as the parents or better than the parents. I will compare structure to see how their overall build, face, eyes, and coat will sit with the puppies. If it's too different, I won't breed those parents. 

From day one, our puppies are raised around children of all ages. We do Early Neurological Stimulation from days 3-10. We start grate potty training at three weeks old. We take them outside for the first time at four weeks old, and start crate training at six weeks old. Through all of that, they are introduced to different surfaces (tile, wood, carpet, concrete), sounds (planes, lawn mowers, fireworks, household sounds, people sounds, animal sounds, cars honking), dogs (my moms and dads, other pups if they're available), people (our neighbors, our kid's friends, my friends, delivery people), and animals (goats, cats, chickens, horses, cows). They also get handling and grooming stimulation to make that easier as time goes on. 

Every litter we ever produce is birthed and raised in-home, around all of the everyday craziness and sounds of a family. These puppies know nothing besides the family life from day one. We don't use kennels, outdoor structures/sheds, or buildings for raising our puppies in. 

All of our parents are health tested and cleared before we ever breed them, meaning our puppies have the best shot at a happy and health life as they can before they are even born. They undergo rigorous genetic and OFA testing each. 

You get lifetime support from us! I absolutely adore my puppy families, and have made multiple little group text threads with our litter families so that they can keep in touch and updated on what their pup's littermates are up to! If you have any questions at all, at any time, I am more than happy to respond to you within a few hours and share what I know about the problem or question you are facing! If you want to come over and have a playdate, we'd love to do that as well! 

We will always take back a puppy for any reason, at any stage in life, no questions ask. We right it into our puppy contracts that if a family ever needs to re-home their pup because of life circumstances, they have to give them back to us so that we can find them a new home. This keeps our puppies out of terrible kennels, pounds, and shelters, and ensures I will always know where my puppies are at any given time. 

We have options for getting puppies to you, even if you're far away! We can fly pups to you using our amazing flight nannies, and if not we can fly the pup to you ourselves! Most of our puppies come from all sorts of different states and not primarily from ours. We have lots of tips and tricks when it comes to flying puppies, and it's become a very easy and seamless process.
