August comes from champion lines from across all of the United States, packed into the perfect golden retriever package! He is 100% golden retriever, and carries the TT gene for low-shedding which is SO rare in full goldens! August has been cleared by our vet, is up to date on his vaccines and deworming, and we will be doing his OFA testing on his hips, elbows, cardiac, patella, eyes, and heart in a few months! He’s kept in peak shape with PawTree kibble, supporting both his physical condition and his sweet, balanced temperament.
Temperament and Trainability
August is a very chill, mellow, and easy-going little dude. From the first week we got him, he hasn't been very interested in chewing on you or biting you - even while teething - and instead likes to go and find socks and lay down with them (not even chew them, just lay down with them?!). He's got a heavy, slow little swagger that shows he's not in a hurry to go anywhere, and was quick to realize where in our house he was allowed to be and where he wasn't. He likes cuddles, naps, and tug of war the very best, and every time he hears a new sound he cocks his head left and right - it's adorable!
August's stunning looks and traits
August is a red American field golden retriever - meaning he will naturally grow to have a very slim, tall stature as he gets older. Unlike show goldens, field goldens have lower-shedding coats and a more athletic lifestyle due to their use hunting and retrieving in the field. August has a rich, dark gold coat that will darken into a beautiful red as he gets older. He also boasts a blocky, broad head, shorter ears, a proud chest, and a showman stance. Both of his parents were on the smaller side, so we think he will be 35-45 lbs full grown.
